Results of some brief cherenkov angle calculations - 21 Feb

excel file

Delay Plots of all individual pixels over 6 hpds - 3rd Feb

  • L0 - dark
  • L1 - dark
  • C0 - illuminated (but poor shape)
  • C1 - illuminated
  • R0 - illuminated
  • R1 - dark (noisy pixel subtracetd)
there is an artefact of double measurment at approximatly 34 ns delay and what looks like a timing problem at 44ns

Comparison of peaks and baselines - 24th jan '05

Another delay scan was taken 1201 to 1239 and this was added to a larger collation of all the delay scan data excel or csv. Wit hte excel version containing baseline and peak plots for the cross run comparison.

background measured from inactive tubes in C4F10 rings

  • L0 = 0.88
  • L1 = 1.08
  • C0 = 0.07
  • C1 = 0.1
  • R0 = 0.006
  • R1 = 1.01
Not thieis very different from the background run (except for R1) These were subtractd from the first two runs and reproduced Richard H's numbers for the distribution heights.

Now re-examining the nitrogen data - a bit raw excel On half there is an improvement on GL's numbers but this is without the propper triangles so theres not realy much poin till then, if i understand things corectly.

More delay scans 20 Jan'05

Initialy i tried to do a scan of the 4 HPD rings but the data isnt on teh online sheet so i could only guess at what runs were needed and the results dont look vert good. they are here. Probly only worth looking at briefly as there isnt much in the way of triangles hapening and i havent any data for the delays. runs 1276 to 1300

More interesting are the results for the C1 R0 R1 which are 1164 to 1200 and are here and is a much clearer run with the new program that identifiesthe hpd's proporly.

Now a redo of the L0L1C1 run is here this has the right hpd notation and isnt missing half the zeros data.

And now another run this one for L0C0C1, 1128 to 1163 results here oneof them looks abit essy but two are close.

A background run with a random trigger givesthe follwoing:

  • L0 - 0.00300616
  • L1 - 0.00915008
  • C0 - 0.0892132
  • C1 - 0.00713584
  • R0 - 0.000374505
  • R1 - 1.00714

Initial Delay scans - 18th Jan '05

Run number 1241 to 1275 the C1L0L1 delay scan darta for C4F10. The data was analysed with calc_occupancy_hpd.cpp.

The initial results are in an excel file here. This contains the raw hits per event by delay data for each HPD and the normalised version for the three interesting HPD's. It is slightly concerning that to of the HPD's didn't register at all and may point towards a problem with the level 1 board that controlled 2 HPD's (but it might not). A more detailed analysis needs to follow tomorrow after I've spoken with Alex, Dave and Mitesh.
